Congo Basin Forest Partnership Technical Manager

World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the global conservation organization, seeks Congo Basin Forest Partnership Technical Manager, in accordance with the USAID CARPE Strategic Objective (SO) to coordinate the implementation of and provide technical support to the WWF Landscape programs of the Congo Basin Forest Partnership (CBFP) Program. To achieve CARPE Strategic objectives and other project. Coordinate the development and implementation of work-plans, monitoring systems, reporting, and other pertinent activities to meet the spirit and intent of the (CBFP) and assure that all donor requirements and deliverables, including reporting are submitted in a timely manner. As a key member of the Green Heart of Africa (GHOA) Network Initiative (NI), the CBFP Technical Manager will accomplish a diversity of tasks related to landscape conservation planning and function as lead scientist for the GHOA NI.

Basic Requirements: An advanced degree in landscape ecology, conservation biology, or landscape planning and implementation with an emphasis on conservation. A minimum of 5 years conservation or regional planning experience, with some international project experience is preferred. A knowledge of various approaches to land use planning is also an asset. Experience with USAID or other USG funded programs is desired. Expertise in interpretation of complex spatial analysis, data modeling and landscape scenario analysis, understanding of the principles of landscape ecology and conservation planning and implementation. Must have a working experience using GIS tools for a diversity of landscape spatial analyses, spatial and non-spatial data management. Excellent oral and written communications skills in English and intermediary level of French required.
