Science Analyst

The National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund (NBCCF), the leading
grassroots advocacy organization dedicated to ending breast cancer,
seeks a full-time Science Analyst.

The National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund is a grassroots advocacy
organization, with hundreds of member organizations and tens of
thousands of individuals dedicated to ending breast cancer through the
power of action and advocacy. Our main goals are to increase federal
funding for breast cancer research; improve access to high-quality
health care and breast cancer clinical trials for all women; and expand
the influence of breast cancer advocates wherever breast cancer
decisions are made.

The Programs Department manages and guides the various NBCCF programs,
which integrate public policy, science, education and advocacy in the
fight against breast cancer to directly influence research, policy and
care.

The Science Analyst will conduct in-depth analyses on breast cancer
science and research developments, and develop fact sheets and position
papers, responses to public inquiries, and content for the informational
website. This position will also support science curriculum and online
and other continuing education work for the Project LEAD(r) courses and
their graduates, the Research Initiative and other work of NBCCF
leadership. Requires a masters degree in a science or health-related
field, preferably in the basic sciences. Must have experience conducting
and writing about scientific research and searching the scientific
literature, as well as communicating science concepts to the lay public
in written and online formats. Knowledge and experience working in
cancer, women's health, and/or advocacy is a plus. Requires strong
written and oral communication skills, the ability to multi-task and
work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to NBCCF's goals
including the education and empowerment of consumers. Salary will be
commensurate with experience; excellent benefits are offered.
